Yep, I used to love the Hector Cuper side in the late 90s....nice to see them having a shot at glory after about 10 years....
I put it all down to Sid Lowe's (sadly accurate) piece on us from last weekend. Or Sid's law, if you like.
In all seriousness though, tonight took me back a good ten years, to the Doblete days. Maybe a fairer comparison would be our 2008 Copa del Rey run, but there's nothing quite like a magical European tie. With all our ups and downs, crises, resurrections, you'd still have to be a fool to doubt us. 40.000 chés didn't tonight in Mestalla (the "Violencia CF" gang tend to typically forget nights like these when calling our fans the worst of the country). Alcácer didn't, Bernat didn't, Pizzi didn't. That's why we're through.
I fully expect to lose again this weekend mind you, but who cares at this point. Nothing will take away moments like these.
